Alexandria Central Rotary Club – 1st Club Meeting

Alexandria Central Rotary Club – 1st Club Meeting

August 8, 2018

We had a good first club meeting last night!

John Renner kicked off the meeting and we each introduced ourselves to the group.
We viewed a short video about Rotary called People of Action. You can watch it on our Club website: https://www.alexcentralrotary.org/why-become-a-rotarian/.

Taneika Taylor Tukan, the Community Outreach Manager from Alexandria City Public Schools Office of School, Business and Community Partnerships, told us how we can help with their Backpack + School Supply Drive (see details below).

Joan Renner talked a little about Rotary, and how our club is organized.  George Valenzuela shared a funny story about visiting other Rotary clubs internationally.
Next Wednesday, bring your ideas to share.

There’s a volunteer opportunity to help fill backpacks for ACPS. They are offering two different time slots. We’d like to sign up as a group, so let us know if your schedule permits you to participate in either of these two-time slots. If you can’t make it, no problem, it’s just an opportunity in case you can. Friends and family are welcome to sign up with us (including young people age 12 and over).

Please let Joan Renner know in the next few days if you’d like to sign up for:
