Alexandria Central Rotary Club Foundation provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that advance literacy for children and adults and/or improve the lives of children, youth, seniors, and others with special needs in the Alexandria Virginia community.
Alexandria West Rotary Club funds specific programs and activities that strengthen core programs, provide seed funding for a new program, program element or initiative, or support capital expenditures. Grants for ordinary operating or maintenance expenses will not be considered.
The grant application should specifically address the need being met and identify the impact of the program or initiative for which funding is being sought. Please make sure to include the number of City Alexandria VA residents served, as well as recent demographics, including, to the extent feasible, an estimate of the percentage of low or moderate-income individuals served through the program.
A key objective of the Grants Program is to form mutually-beneficial working relationships between the Alexandria Central Rotary Club and our grant recipients, with each supporting the programs and activities of the other. In particular, the Rotary Club welcomes and encourages the active involvement of grant recipients in publicizing, and participating in its annual fundraising event, which is the primary source of the funding for the Rotary grants program. The Alexandria Central Rotary Club also requests that awardees acknowledge Rotary funding in their newsletters, annual reports, and on social media.
Standard Grant amounts typically range from $500 to $2000. Alexandria VA based organization are invited to apply for the Alexandria West Foundation Grants.
Additional eligibility criteria will be found on the Grant Application form. Applications should be filed no later than April 6, 2019, and our grant decisions will be announced on or about April 20, 2019. Awardees will be invited to attend the Contributions Evening Ceremony, to be held on TBD, 2019. For further information, please contact our George Valenzuela using the form below.
